The inaugural Deportivo Alavés x Sozo Sports Summer Camp in the USA took place on the 29th, 30th and 31st of July
Deportivo Alavés is continuously expanding its international project and showcasing their methodology among youngsters around the world.
From July 29th until the 31st, the Baskonia Alavés Academy, in collaboration with Sozo Sports, organized the first Deportivo Alavés Summer Camp in the United States. This camp took place in the city of Yakima, in the state of Washington, and gathered around 100 players, both boys and girls, aged 8 to 18 years.
The main goal of this camp was to show these young athletes the methodology used at Deportivo Alavés, working at the same level as a professional LALIGA club. The shared perception after this camp was very positive, and both players and coaches learnt some useful tools that can now incorporate into their routine training sessions when they return to their clubs.
This was achieved because Deportivo Alavés traveled to Yakima with some of the coaches from its own Academy, and they delivered clinics, seminars and class sessions where they focused on the methodology carried out every day at Ibaia, the sports facilities for the entire football structure.
Another focus of the camp was to make attendees realize that coaches are a key figure in the development of their players, not only as athletes, but also as good citizens, one of the key aspects at Deportivo Alavés.
This camp was a successful first step into a promising relationship with Sozo Sports, based on the cultural and sports interchange, but also a chance for the Baskonia Alavés Academy to continue sharing their knowledge, methodology and experience around the world.
